World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
The item upgrade lets players boost the gear rating of an item by up 700 points and also give it a bonus. Items can be upgraded if they are in your inventory and you take them to the Kiln.
Certain items can be upp'd for their unique stats (like an ideally broken point armour that is rolled for melee PvP) and others, like weapons, do not change significantly after an upgrade and thus aren't worth upgrading.
Weapons

For instance an item with a rating of +2 will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while the +3 model requires four. item upgrader of stones required to upgrade the weapon will continue to increase until it requires an upgrade to a higher level of Smithing Stones, at which point it will reset to one.
Upgrades to weapons will also alter the stats of the base. While this is usually beneficial however, it could have negative effects as well. For items that only see use in a certain build (Whistant's shield for FB sorcs, for instance) upgrading them could render them unusable unless you get a fortunate roll.
It is possible to upgrade armor items to increase their performance. For instance, if you have chests or helms, this will increase the defense of its base, while gloves and belts enhance their required strength and dexterity. Armor also offers the option of rerolling its Enhanced Defense%, meaning that it can sometimes roll back to a lower number.
The upgrade template of a weapon will show the new stats that it will gain after upgrading, as well as the relative value of those stats. This means that a change from a sword with 8 damage to an 11 attack-damage sword will result in a weapon receiving 33% attack damage. However the 3% difference doesn't mean that it will strike for 3 fewer times, since it is an absolute statistic.

Armor

It isn't possible to upgrade armor the same as weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior, you should focus on upgrading your armor to increase physical strength or spell power. It's also a good idea to save your armor upgrades to use for armor you'll wear at the end of the game, like the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield, or the helmet you'll wear for the final boss battle and the Monter Parts Merchant's mask.
By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town, you can unlock perks for your armor. You'll generally want to save these upgrades for the weapon you'll be using to beat the game. For instance, the Longsword or Battleaxe. But it's useful to have a few upgrades to the armor on your chest and helmets so that you can sneak around some monsters.
Potions
Potions are liquids that when consumed by a player, give the player with a temporary effect for a short period of time. There are five types of potions, each with a specific set of effects and durations. Certain potions can be upgraded, increasing their effectiveness. You can also enhance the effects of certain potions by adding redstone dust and glowstone dust.

To upgrade a potion you need to right-click it in your inventory. Then, select "Upgrade" from the menu. This opens a GUI where you can choose the potions you wish to upgrade and the amount of XP they will yield when upgraded. Upgrades to potions can be made in batches of up to five at a time and the XP they provide will be added to your current XP total.
Once a potion is upgraded in quality, it will not deteriorate unless you take it out again or break the bottle within the container it is kept. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will also allow you to change its name.
Version 1.7.2 introduced a few modifications to the way potions are used. Splash potions, for example have now a duration of 0:08 instead of the 22.5 seconds that are displayed on the hover display of the item. The potion table can now be crafted with four Wood Planks and two Glass. This allows it to be utilized by players in Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions are not compatible with cauldrons like Java Edition. The same is true for using a potion within a cauldron that is full. This will drain the potion, and refill the bottle.
Finally, there are simmering potions made with dragon breath and splash potions. Similar to lingering potions, the' effect is extended by adding redstone. The table of potions is arranged more like the Java Edition, and new potions were added such as potion of leaping, potion of decomposition, and turtle master potions.
Trinkets

Upgrade vendors can be found at the capitals of every zone, and sometimes in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are available with gold, tokens or fragments of a rare trinket.
Upgrades are a cost-effective alternative to buying a new trinket. It is possible to upgrade a player for as little as 12 tokens. The new trinket will feature the same base ilvl as older one, and have an additional upgrade bonus of 1.
Once the old Trinkets have become no longer usable, they can be upgraded. This allows a player to increase both their power and value with time. They can be traded between players, making them an alternative to gold.
Players should upgrade their most important items first. This means that the top-in slot items for each class are upgraded first, followed by their secondary gear, and then other pieces of equipment they will not replace anytime soon (such as a ring or an cloak). Players should also take into consideration their class's preferred stats when deciding the items to upgrade.
