Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade
The statistics of an item are improved through upgrading it, also known as "upping". Each upgrade increment gives a linear increase in a given stat.
Players can recycle six items at a time to gain a gauge for each item's upgraded component. The cost of recycling items scales with their rarity and item level.
Upgrade components
An upgrade for an item in Guild Wars 2 is a process that can boost the power of your weapon and armor. This can be achieved through a variety of methods such as using upgrade components or increasing an item's rarity or mark level. A lot of items can be reforged to boost their stats.
You can find upgradeable items throughout the game. They are available throughout all over the world and are rewards for missions. Players can also make them. The primary method to upgrade equipment is through the use of upgrade components, which are the items that can be inserted into equipment. These upgrades change the name of the item and add an adjective, like 'Radiant' or 'Minor Vigor. The only exceptions are the non-inscribable wands, the shields and foci from the Prophecies and Factions campaigns, which cannot be upgraded with any mods in any way.
Glyphs

Each glyph has a range of values it can enhance a stat, as shown on the item when you open the glyph in the Glyph Storage or when you use it to enchant an Artifact. This range is not the actual amount at which the glyph will increase the stat, but rather the maximum amount by which it is able to do so. The actual value of the glyph is determined by the quality and tier of the product you are in awe of it.
Most upgrade components inserted into items cannot be repaired or replaced without dismantling the gear in question, unless it is legendary equipment and upgrades. If you have a rune or glyph you don't want to use, but it hasn't been incorporated to the gear yet, you can move the item to another piece by using the Upgrade Glyphs menu within the Glyphs Panel. This will create an Glyph Set that includes the chosen glyph.
If you are looking to remove a glyph from an item you must save it using the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. The item where the glyph is placed will be destroyed, but the upgraded item can be retrieved using the glyph shards.
The addition of a glyph to an item can cause it to become unstable, and the shards of the glyph will disappear from your inventory once you remove the item. You can also add a glyph on your equipment to provide an additional benefit. Deferred Damage, for example, can store damage and be distributed slowly to the wearer rather than all at one time. This is beneficial for players who take lots of damage from their enemies, but do not want to be overwhelmed.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens let players alter the affixes they use on their weapons and equipment and they can be obtained through a variety of methods such as in mistery boxes or as a rare drop from skulled creatures, or even from killing bosses. Reroll tokens give the player a new random affix that is usually superior to the original. Reroll tokens are also a great way to reroll weapon stats and can be upgraded for better damage or other perks.
Rerolled items do not appear in the menu of upgrade options, however they can still be upgraded. When you press the "upgrade button", you can recycle these recycled items. This will change the layout of the item's window, and allow up to six items be selected for recycling. The level gauge is increased by recycling an item. This amount is determined by the rarity of the item and its own level, so higher-level items are more useful to recycle than lower-level ones.
In addition to reroll tokens, players can make use of Star Remnants and Reroll Tokens to roll the Weapon Traits of an upgraded unit. Leveling
